Gordon Snidow-Authentic Memories of the American West
The Snidow Museum of Art, partnering with The Hubbard Museum of the American West, proudly presents its premiere exhibit, “Authentic Memories of the American West“, August 3 through October 15, 2012 in the Hubbard Museum’s Green Tree Gallery. Over 80 works from world renowned artist Gordon Snidow will be presented in a unique setting at the Hubbard Museum.
“There are few ranches where preservation of our western heritage is important: where they still take the wagon out, where cowboy-ing is done the traditional way, by dragging calves to the fire,” says Gordon Snidow, master artist and documenter of the American West for more than fifty years. Re-live the ranch life Snidow experienced during the latter 20th century.
Snidow, who lives in the Ruidoso Valley with his wife Grace, is arguably the most famous western artist alive today. Some of the many highlights of his career include exhibits at the Smithsonian and in Moscow, as well as commissioned work for the Coors Brewing Company and country music star Michael Martin Murphey. The exhibit, “Authentic Memories of the American West”, sets the stage for the birth of the Snidow Museum of Art in the near future.
