Group Tours for Schools
The Hubbard Museum has a variety of tours available for school groups. Guided tours must be booked at least two weeks in advance. Special events and tours may require additional fees. For more information, go to School Tour Information.
Hubbard Museum Resources
Fill Up Your Museum Box–Teachers or parents can use this activity to identify a “big question” that students can answer from the museum exhibits. Print a copy of the activity to bring with you or pick up a copy at the museum.
Hunt in the Hubbard–Use this activity as a scavenger hunt that guides students through the different exhibits, encouraging them to look closely to find the answers to the questions. Copies available at the Visitor Services desk inside the museum.

Smithsonian Source: Resources for Teaching American History
This website gives excellent examples of using primary sources in museums for teaching about American history. Many of the ideas and examples could be used to create pre- and post-visit lessons for students coming to the Hubbard.

The National Parks Service provides lesson plans for their parks that have great ideas for teaching with museum artifacts.
Library of Congress Teacher Site: Teaching with Primary Sources
This site has many different sources that can be used to develop lesson plans around a museum visit. You can search by theme (women’s history), state standard or discipline (language, social studies, etc) to find resources and lesson plans.
